  • Overview

    Responsible in all aspects of the purchasing of Wines and Spirits products from various suppliers, managing inventory levels and the logistics associated with their purchase. Manage the process to gather and disseminate information required to make analytical decisions regarding purchases, consolidations and shipments of products.  Perform the purchasing and pricing for a division’s portfolio.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze sales trends and execute product forecasts to determine inventory to be ordered.
    • Generate purchase orders and place orders with suppliers.
    • Coordinate shipment of goods with transportation companies so goods arrive timely at the Breakthru PA warehouse.
    • Coordinate logistics arrivals with the operations team.
    • Prepare sale prices for products which will be reviewed by the sales executives.
    • Frequently communicate with suppliers, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, and the internal warehouse / sales teams on a wide range of topics.
    • Routinely research and clear timely accounting issues with purchase orders.
    • Provide basic product details for new product set up in SAP.
    • Provide occasional support to Customer service.
    • Maintains professional and industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
    • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
    • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
    • One to Three years of experience in purchasing with strong analytical skills partnered with the ability to absorb constantly changing trends.
    • Experience in or familiarity with accounting principles and practices. 
    • Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
    • Strong analytical and math aptitudes.
    • Good interpersonal skills required.
    • Solid written/oral communication skills.
    • Proven experience producing work that is both timely and accurate.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Strong follow up skills.
    • Knowledge of SAP software preferred.
    • Strong MS Excel background and technical aptitude.
    • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
