  • Overview

    The Benefits Analyst is responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of all Canada and U.S. benefits programs (i.e. group health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), Canada pension, leave of absence) and maintaining benefit data integrity. The benefits administrator also provides excellent customer service and support to associates in all aspects of Benefits. 


    • Administer Canada and U.S. Benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life disability, 401(k), Canada pension, leave of absence, and other programs as assigned. 
    • Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and associates on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
    • Assist with administering leave-of-absence requests, FMLA, and disability paperwork.
    • Assist with wellbeing program activities and distribution of required compliance notices.
    • Respond to Canadian Pension and 401(k) inquiries relating to eligibility, enrollments, loans, and contributions.
    • Input data into internal HRIS and Insurance carrier systems including benefit enrollments, changes, and other Benefit information. 
    • Review and approve HRIS benefit transactions such as benefits enrollment, changes, and EOI updates.
    • Assist with HRIS benefit plans set-up; changes; configuration issues; and enhancements.
    • Monitor file integrations and perform HRIS data audits for data integrity to ensure accuracy of reports; elections; company costs; and payroll deductions. Work with Benefits team, IT, and HRIS to research issues for immediate and ongoing resolution.
    • Recommend file integration and HRIS Workday enhancements related to Benefit administration
    • Assist in preparing benefit invoices for payment. Research and reconcile invoice payment issues.
    • Work with insurance carriers to resolve claim matters.
    • Input Canadian benefit elections and changes into vendor website
    • Maintain Benefit files and records


    • Associate degree preferred with 3+ years of related Canada and U.S. benefits administration experience
    • Knowledge of Canadian health and pension benefits
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information
    • Working knowledge of the general types of Canada and U.S. benefits programs
    • Demonstrated experience using an HRIS system for benefits administration, Workday preferred
    • Effective communication skills, oral & written
    • Experience in MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Intermediate Excel skills
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong time-management; organizational; and attention to detail skills.
