Overview

The Director, Commercial Performance Analytics will serve as a strategic leader within the commercial operations team, responsible for driving the effectiveness and efficiency of tools and processes that enable profitable growth for our suppliers and the company. 

 

This individual must understand supplier strategies and strategic commitments to support the translation into actionable, measurable, and motivational goals and incentives for the sales teams.  Key responsibilities include defining guidance for high-quality goals, guidelines for aligned incentive structures, simplifying execution priorities for the field, and leading the design of real-time performance analytics and tools to assess impact, identify opportunities, and continuously optimize commercial outcomes. 

 

This role operates in a hybrid capacity and can be based from most Breakthru Beverage office locations. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and continuous improvement of the company’s proprietary goaling tools to drive scalable growth across internal selling teams and external supplier partners
    • Design and evolve goal-setting methodologies that align with enterprise performance priorities and business objectives
    • Ensure the framework supports both short and long-term performance objectives
    • Develop a methodology to connect goals and incentives together thoughtfully, providing clarity on hardlines and guidelines to be leveraged by individual markets that allow for a roll-up of results
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., sales, finance, operations, IT, HR) and external stakeholders to ensure goal structures and incentives are relevant, measurable and actionable
    • Establish KPIs, targets, and metrics aligned with the company’s goals, ensuring utilization of tools to gauge progress and coach to improvement opportunities
    • Define and maintain governance frameworks to ensure consistency in goal setting, incentive creation, tracking, and reporting across the organization
    • Translate business goals and performance management needs into precise, prioritized technical requirements
  • Co-create a roadmap for goaling and incentive tools with commercial operations and IT counterparts that aligns with the broader technology strategy and intent to streamline sales tools
    • Identify opportunities to consolidate or streamline tools for better user experience, data integration, and scalability
    • Provide business input during tool design or enhancement phases to ensure functionality supports effective execution
  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and adapt strategies to ensure the company remains agile and responsive to market dynamics and internal performance indicators
    • Surface insights, identify trends, and inform adjustments to the overall strategy
    • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on goal and incentive performance insights and business impacts
  • Lead training and change management efforts through the sales execution and trade teams to drive stakeholder alignment and tool utilization across internal and external users.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in performance management to continuously evolve the goaling approach
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (e.g., business, economics, engineering) or related field experience
  • 10 years of professional experience working in a project, results-driven role
  • 5+ years as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst with a minimum of 5 years experience in an agile environment
  • Proven direct people management, including servicing multiple stakeholders and working cross-functionally
  • Proven change agent with skills in building alignment and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated business acumen, sound business judgment, and the ability to provide relevant, actionable, data-driven advice to management
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communications skills. Ability to influence without direct authority; excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with high-level executive partners across a broad organization.  Must be able to operate independently and establish consensus across key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and strong diagnostic skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to see projects to completion 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience with beverage alcohol, consumer package goods, or business intelligence or consulting services is strongly preferred
  • Hands-on CRM experience with a strong understanding of commercial sales planning and execution
  • Advanced degree in business or a related field is preferred (e.g., MBA) 

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
  • Position requires schedule flexibility and the ability to travel up to 20% of the time
