Overview

The Senior Manager, Fleet Operations responsible for vehicle and equipment management and planning. This role is crucial role in the operational efficiency and strategic financial planning of our expansive, national trucking fleet.

 

This position can be based from most Breakthru Beverage office locations to act in a hybrid capacity (two days in the office, three days from home). 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain our 1600+ vehicle fleet, including cargo vans, box trucks, and tractor trailers.
  • Develop and implement fleet management strategies aligned with company objectives, focusing on cost optimization, fuel efficiency, and longevity of vehicles.
  • Supervise and coordinate with vendors and procurement teams, leading negotiations for fleet acquisitions and disposals while ensuring environmental and safety regulations compliance.
  • Establish a preventive maintenance program and oversee its application for fleet reliability.
  • Utilize fleet management software for tracking, analyzing fleet performance, and monitoring KPIs.
  • Conduct long-term financial and capital planning related to fleet management.
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders (suppliers, vendors, regulatory authorities) ensuring industry standards and regulations compliance.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain new technologies to improve fleet management, including GPS tracking, telematics, and fleet management software.
  • Initiate environment-friendly initiatives, monitor fleet's carbon footprint, and report on sustainability efforts.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in fleet management or a related field.
  • Experience managing a large-scale, national trucking fleet.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and KPI tracking.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental and safety laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional negotiation and financial planning skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Analytic and Reporting skills
  • Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electric vehicle projects

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
